In September 2024, we had the privilege of co-hosting an exclusive wine tasting event aboard the historic yacht Ventura—an icon of the sea, dating back to 1919. This extraordinary event took place in one of the most iconic settings in the world: New York Harbor. Our guests were treated not only to the finest vintages of Bindi Sergardi but also to an unforgettable journey on this century-old vessel.
The event was organized by Dr. Danielle Callegari, Writer at Large for Wine Enthusiast and wine educator at Dartmouth College, alongside Bartholomew Broadbent, and Alessandra Casini Bindi Sergardi, the current steward of Bindi Sergardi wines. Together, they provided an in-depth exploration of the history and craftsmanship behind Bindi Sergardi’s library vintages, creating a memorable experience for wine lovers in attendance.
As the yacht Ventura glided through the harbor, passing by the Statue of Liberty at sunset, guests were immersed in a breathtaking scene. The beauty of the golden hour illuminated the Manhattan skyline, creating the perfect atmosphere for savoring exquisite wines and enjoying the company of fellow wine professionals and enthusiasts.
This sail on Ventura, with its storied past, created a tangible connection between tradition and modern elegance. The old-world charm of the yacht was the ideal setting to showcase the heritage of Bindi Sergardi, further enhancing the experience of the guests who appreciated the history and the stories behind the vintage bottlings told amid the magnificent backdrop of New York Harbor.
