Our Story

De Wetshof, the first registered wine estate in the Robertson Wine Valley, has earned international acclaim as South Africa’s eminent Chardonnay House. The De Wet family's winemaking heritage dates back to 1694 when the first De Wets arrived at the Cape. Today, brothers Johann (CEO) and Peter (CFO) continues this legacy who was preceded by their grandfather, Johann and father Danie, the pioneer of Chardonnay in South Africa. De Wetshof wines reflect the unique soils of the Estate and meticulous attention to detail, while state-of-the-art technology ensures that the cellar work enhances the natural gifts of the vineyards.
