Spy Valley Wines: A Commitment to Health, Wellbeing & Sustainability

Spy Valley is a winery with purpose.

Guided by a core value of caring for both people and the planet, Spy Valley supports charities and initiatives across New Zealand that promote health, wellbeing, and environmental sustainability.

Spy Valley partners with organizations making a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders:

  • Te Kiwi Māia Charitable Trust – Providing recovery and rehabilitation for frontline workers living with physical or psychological injuries, helping them and their families rebuild positive lives.
  • Mary Potter Hospice – Offering free, compassionate palliative care across Wellington, Porirua, and Kāpiti, with a strong commitment to equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Malaghan Institute of Medical Research – New Zealand’s leading independent biomedical research charity, advancing breakthroughs in cancer, infectious diseases, and immunotherapy.
  • Marlborough Hospice – Delivering holistic end-of-life care, supporting patients and families in their homes and at its inpatient unit.

Spy Valley also leads with sustainability:

  • Forest & Bird Partnership – Restoring native wetlands at the Area H vineyard and supporting conservation nationwide through the Satellite wine range.
  • Ecologi Partnership – Planting over 8,700 trees and offsetting more than 630 tonnes of CO₂, ensuring every bottle carries a positive environmental impact.
  • Strengthening Community – From hosting Pink Ribbon fundraisers and supporting local schools to donating firewood from the vineyard to families in need, Spy Valley continually invests in the community it calls home.
  • Spy was the inaugural winner of The Marlborough Wine Industry Workplace Wellbeing Impact Award in 2023.

Through these partnerships and initiatives, Spy Valley Wines demonstrates that world-class wines can also be a force for good – supporting people, protecting nature, and strengthening communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.
