Named New Zealand Winery of the Year at the 2026 London Wine Competition, Spy Valley is bringing serious Marlborough momentum to the U.S. market.

Seven wines entered. Seven gold medals won. One very good reason to celebrate.

Spy Valley Wines has been named New Zealand Winery of the Year at the 2026 London Wine Competition, delivering a clean sweep for the family-owned estate in Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley.

The result shines an international spotlight on Spy Valley’s portfolio—and especially on the award-winning wines available in the United States through Broadbent Selections.

A Golden Run for Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Among the winning wines available in the U.S. are:

  • 2025 Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc
  • 2025 Satellite by Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc
  • 2023 Envoy Johnson Sauvignon Blanc

Together, the three wines show just how much range Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc can offer. Satellite is bright, fresh, and immediately inviting. Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc delivers classic regional energy and character. Envoy Johnson offers a more layered, site-driven expression.

Different personalities, one unmistakable sense of place.

“Spy Valley represents exactly the kind of producer Broadbent Selections was built to champion: family-owned, rooted in place, and consistently over-delivering. This win affirms the quality of the entire estate, and we are proud to bring these award-winning Marlborough expressions to our partners across the United States.” Bartholomew Broadbent, Founder and CEO of Broadbent Selections

Seven for Seven

The London Wine Competition is judged by Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, and senior wine buyers. Wines are evaluated not only on quality, but also on value and market appeal—making the results especially relevant for the U.S. trade.

And seven gold medals from seven entries? That sends a pretty clear message.

“Seven for seven is a mic-drop moment. For the U.S. trade, the message is clear: Spy Valley’s Sauvignon Blanc program is not just reliable—it is world-class.” Josh Orr, Master Sommelier at Broadbent Selections

For the Spy Valley team, the recognition is a celebration of years spent staying focused on the estate, the land, and the standards behind every bottle.

“To be recognised on this stage is incredible. We’ve always believed that staying true to our land and standards would deliver results. This is a proud moment for our entire team.” Amanda Johnson, Owner and Managing Director of Spy Valley Wines

Momentum That Keeps Building

The London sweep follows another major international honor for Spy Valley. Its 2024 Gewürztraminer was named Best New Zealand Wine at the 2025 Global Wine & Spirits Awards Asia.

Taken together, the awards point to growing global momentum for a producer that has spent more than 30 years refining its approach in Marlborough.

Family-owned and operated, Spy Valley was established in 1993 in the Waihopai Valley. The estate’s stony, free-draining soils help shape wines with purity, intensity, and distinctly regional character.

Although Sauvignon Blanc may take center stage, Spy Valley’s range also includes expressive Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and other aromatic varieties.

Rooted in Place, Ready for the World

Spy Valley’s success is not about chasing trends. It is the result of a long-term commitment to its estate, its region, and the people behind the wines.

That makes its latest honor especially fitting—and gives Sauvignon Blanc drinkers across the U.S. three gold-medal-winning reasons to discover Spy Valley.

Spy Valley Wines is imported in the United States by Broadbent Selections.
