Delaire Graff Estate

About

The estate that is now known as Delaire Graff was founded by Simon van der Stel in 1679. In 1982, the well-known wine writer, John Platter, bought the property, then known as Avontuur. Looking at the magnifiicent view, he decided to rename the farm Delaire Estate, meaning “From the Sky.” Laurence Graff, Chairman of Graff Diamonds, acquired the estate in 2003 and vowed to transform it into South Africa’s most desirable art, hospitality & wine destination. Winemaker Morné Vrey is skilled in creating fine wines from the incredible material that he has at his disposal.

Banghoek Chardonnay

Stellenbosch

Harvest & Vintage Notes
The medium to full-bodied wine is precise in the mouth and then unfolds on the palate, showing a beautiful texture and complexity across the mid-palate. Toasted brioche from the oak, citrus marmalade, long-lingering and pleasurable finish.
