We have a team of highly skilled and passionate professionals dedicated to sharing the stories, philosophies, and bottlings from the family-owned wineries we champion. Broadbent is committed to helping ensure these winemaking legacies are known and revered for generations to come.

In addition to an extensive import portfolio, Broadbent Selections also produces award-winning Madeira, Port, and Portuguese table wines under an eponymous label, and recently launched a North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon to add to their Auctioneer (Napa Valley) and Architect (Alexander Valley) bottlings from California. We were named one of Wine & Spirits’ Top 100 Wineries of 2020.

Bartholomew Broadbent

Bartholomew Broadbent founded Broadbent Selections in 1996. He’s renowned in the wine industry for his knowledge of, and passion for, Port - established Premium Port Wines in San Francisco in 1986 and re-launching Madeira in the United States in 1989. Broadbent Selections was twice nominated for the Best Importer award by Wine Enthusiast, most recently at the 2020 Wine Star Awards.

In 1997, Decanter named Bartholomew one of the “Fifty most influential in the wine world…faces to watch in the new millennium,” while in 2008, Wine & Spirits named him one of ten in the world to be “driving the most revolutionary changes in wine.”

Bartholomew is a judge for many wine competitions, a regular speaker at popular wine festivals, a guest lecturer on most major cruise lines and has been the host of a TV series on Viking TV called Wine Wednesdays.

He resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife and two children.
