About

Managed by Bertrand & Christiane Devillard and their children Amaury & Aurore since 1996, Domaine des Perdrix, located in Côte de Nuits, spreads 37.5 acres (12.5 acres produce Premier Cru) in the best terroirs within the villages of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée and Gevrey-Chambertin. Nearly 5 hectares (12.5 acres) of the estate produce Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru. The quality of the vineyards, their rigorous management and vinification have established the Domaine des Perdrix as a renowned Domaine, one of the best amongst the “Grands Vins de Bourgogne.”

Wine-lovers can taste wines from 5 estates run by the Devillard Family: Château de Chamirey, Domaine des Perdrix, Domaine de la Ferté, Domaine de la Garenne, Le Renard.

Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Blanc

Just shy of a half hectare planted in 2009. This is a high altitude vineyard with clay and predominately limestone soils. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations as well as aging take place exclusively in stainless steel. Lemon, yellow fruit, saltiness.

Bourgogne Pinot Noir

Harvest & Vintage Notes
Planted between 1956 and 1965 in predominately clay and limestone soils. Natural yeast fermented and then aged in 60% stainless steel with the remainder in 228 liter Burgundian barrels of which 20% are new. Cherry, pepper, menthol.

Echezeaux Grand Cru

This Grand Cru is divided into 2 plots: 80% planted in climat Echezeaux Du-Dessus in 1922 and 20% in climat 'Quartiers de Nuits', planted in 1945. Clay and limestone soils. Natural yeast fermentation and then aged for 18 months in 228 liter Burgundian barrels. Cherries, plums, violets.

Both climats are adjacent to Vosne-Romanée, planted in 1937 and 1944. Natural yeast fermented and then aged in 30% new 228 liter Burgundian barrels for 16 months. Red fruit, aniseed, juicy.

Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Aux Perdrix

Almost a monopole, but not quite as Domaines Devillard only owns 99% of the vineyard. However, they are the only producer of Aux Perdrix. Vines were planted between 1922 and 1955. Natural yeast fermentation and then aged 18 months in 50% new Burgundian 228 liter barrels. Black cherries, cassis, pepper.

Vosne-Romanée

Just over one hectare combined, these three plots were planted between 1921 and 1980. A mix of limestone, clay, and calcareous entrochal. Fermentation is with natural yeast and then aged for 16 months in 30% new Burgundian 228 liter barrels.
